The chimney is filling with branches and leaves
Holding me captive filling my lungs
Billowing clouds of smoke singing their songs

I'm finding it harder to see
The windows are charcoaled with fallen debris
Stripped of my senses alone in the shed
Faint sound of footsteps and voices ahead

Holler back to them, yell out your name
Scream out in horror as you make your way
Back into hiding, feeling the burn
Hoping to hell it's not your turn

Tears evaporate into the air
Forced to give up I collapse in the chair
Crashing below me. floorboards give way
There I lay wounded in an underground cave

I got the hell out of the way
I hid in the bushes till it was okay
Personified courage saw from below
A brave silhouette standing alone
